Parent visa places to be chosen 90% by wait order and 10% by random draw from 5 October 2026
The government announced a new mixed way of choosing expressions of interest for the Parent Resident Visa. From 5 October 2026, about 90% are to be picked in the date order they were submitted, and about 10% by random draw. The yearly limit of 2,500 visas stays the same. The first selection this way is set for 10 November 2026.
Takes effect 2026-10-05.
