Denmark’s parliament passed a law on 3 September 2026 that creates a new work permit route. It opens on 1 January 2027, so nobody can apply under it yet. Employers certified by SIRI, the Danish agency that handles work permits, and covered by a collective agreement will be able to hire people from a set list of countries outside the EU. The minimum salary will be DKK 322,000 a year at 2026 rates, lower than Denmark’s main salary-based work route requires.

Effective from 1 January 2027.
