Requirements changed
Anyone in Canada with a valid work permit can now take a short course without a study permit
A temporary policy started on 4 September 2026. It lets people who hold a valid work permit study for 6 months or less, or until their work permit ends, whichever comes first. The earlier version of this policy only covered workers whose permit application had reached the department on or before 7 June 2023.
Takes effect 2026-09-04.
